We received a complaint in the first week of April from Ravindra and Manisha Chalwadi of Sector 8, Charkop, Kandivili(W) that every morning at around 5:30 am 2 trucks were regularly coming and dumping debris at a particular spot close to their building.
Usual complaints at the neighbouring police station and the Ward Office, R (Central) yielded no results.
Then on 27th April 07 Manisha and Vaishakh jointly visited the Collector and brought the incident to his notice. As of 28th April the dumping stopped with a flying squad of BMC nabbin the two trucks early in the morning.
On 30th April Manisha and Vaishakh will be visiting the Tehsildar at Dahisar to further lodge a complaint and find out the details about the truckers.
Preliminary informtation suggests that the land belongs to MHADA in which case they should be the ones taking interst in protecting their land.
Mumbai Mangroves

I am working in Mindspace Malad where there are vast streatches of Mangroves.
Everyday, there is encroachment on these endangered mangroves with illegal costruction & hutments slowly taking over & destroying them.
Is there something that can be done ?
Why has the area not been declared a proteted zone yet ?

I am staying in Charkop sector-8 which is surrounded by mangroes and CRZ area .some of the society construction is still in progress but other pending society construction is stopped which states there are no permission by MHADA for the further construction.It is true……….and secondly is there are permission to construct building on cluster plot after 20 years completed.
